1 dead after 3-vehicle crash on SR 29 and Oil Well Rd.

COLLIER COUNTY, Fla. (WINK)—A 31-year-old Lehigh Acres man died following a three-vehicle crash at the intersection of State Road 29 and Oil Well Road, according to a Florida Highway Patrol press release.

The crash happened at 3:03 p.m. on Tuesday. According to the press release, a 22-year-old Bonita Springs man driving a sedan west on Oil Well Road disregarded a stop sign at the intersection with State Road 29.

The front of the sedan collided with the left side of an SUV traveling south on State Road 29. After the collision, the SUV rotated and was struck on the side by a semi truck traveling north on State Road 29.

The 31-year-old driver of the SUV sustained critical injuries and was transported to an area hospital, where he was later pronounced deceased. A 30-year-old Lehigh Acres woman who was a passenger in the SUV sustained serious injuries and was also transported to an area hospital.

The 22-year-old sedan driver sustained minor injuries. The 53-year-old Naples man driving the semi truck was not injured.

The crash remains under investigation.
