Lehigh Acres man accused of stealing Porsche he was hired to deliver

LEHIGH ACRES, Fla. (WINK)—A Lehigh Acres man was arrested after deputies found him joyriding in a 2026 Porsche he was hired to deliver to Michigan.

Lee County Sheriff's Office deputies took a report from the victim on March 20. The victim had hired a company to ship his 2026 Porsche and two Honda scooters to Michigan, and the vehicles were picked up on March 18.

Two days later, the company contacted the victim, stating that the shippers had been stopped by police. However, the victim was receiving updates indicating that his Porsche was being driven.

Deputies located the Porsche at the DMV in Lehigh Acres, along with the hired shipper, Alfonso Estrada Avila. Estrada Avila told deputies he was at the DMV to get a new license and had taken the Porsche out of the trailer since it was smaller and more convenient than his personal vehicle.

3rd Precinct Crime Section Detectives later located a trailer containing the victim's two scooters. All of the vehicles were returned to the owner.

Estrada Avila was arrested for three counts of grand theft of a motor vehicle.
