Signed, sealed and stolen: Deputies arrest Lehigh Acres delivery driver in Porsche, scooter theft

LEHIGH ACRES, Fla. —

A Lehigh Acres man was arrested on Friday after being accused of stealing a Porsche he was hired to deliver.

According to the Lee County Sheriff's Office arrest report, deputies took a complaint from the victim on Friday, who told them that on March 18, he had hired a company to ship his red 2026 Porsche 911 and two Honda scooters to Michigan.

Two days later, the victim was contacted by the shipping company, which told him that the shippers had been stopped by police. However, the victim received updates on his phone indicating that his Porsche was being driven, LCSO said.

Deputies located the Porsche at the DMV in Lehigh Acres, along with the hired shipper, identified as Alfonso Estrada Avila, 29, the report said.

Estrada Avila told deputies he was at the DMV to get a new license, and had taken the Porsche out of the trailer and driven it, since it was smaller and more convenient than his personal vehicle.

Deputies then located the trailer, which contained the victim's two scooters.

Estrada Avila was arrested and faces three charges of grand theft auto.
