280-acre brush fire burns in Hendry County

HENDRY COUNTY, Fla. —

Crews are on the scene of a 280-acre brush fire in Hendry County.

The fire is burning in the area of West Boundary Rd, north of I-75 and the Big Cypress National Preserve, which saw a brush fire earlier this month.

The fire was reported Tuesday evening and is still active Wednesday morning, according to the Florida Forest Service website.

As of 10:52 p.m. Tuesday, the fire is 280 acres in size and 45% contained.
