Amazon buys 200+ acres near Punta Gorda Airport

Charlotte County, Fla. (WINK)—Amazon is expanding its presence in Southwest Florida. The technology giant has purchased more than 232 acres of industrial property near the Punta Gorda Airport.

LSI Companies Inc. brokered the sale of the land to Amazon.com Services LLC, according to a press release. The property spans five parcels along Jones Loop Road.

The deal closed at $20,149,970 for the 232.73-acre site. The parcels are located at 27805, 28005, 28105, 28205 and 28505 Jones Loop Road.

The press release did not specify Amazon's plans for the property.
