Amazon expands footprint on the Gulf Coast with $20m Charlotte County land purchase

CHARLOTTE COUNTY, Fla. —

Amazon has purchased more than 230 acres of land in Charlotte County, Florida, for a little more than $20 million, potentially bringing new jobs to the Gulf Coast.

The land is located along Jones Loop Road just east of I-75, and the deal was handled by LSI Companies.

This purchase comes as an Amazon facility is already going up in Fort Myers along State Road 82, just east of Forum Boulevard, which is already a busy area.

There are a few traffic concerns, but the goal is to boost the economy by bringing new jobs and opportunities to local businesses.

The Fort Myers Amazon facility is expected to open next year. Gulf Coast News will provide updates on the timeline for the Charlotte County facility.
