Arcadia elementary school evacuated after bomb threat, increased security

ARCADIA, Fla. (WINK)—The Arcadia Police Department responded to a bomb threat at West Elementary this morning.

Officers arrived at the school at approximately 7:55 a.m. Wednesday and conducted a thorough search of the campus. After completing the investigation, no evidence of any threat was found.

The Arcadia Police Department said the area, along with several surrounding counties, has recently experienced an increase in similar swatting calls. While these incidents are often false, every call is treated as a real threat and handled with the highest level of urgency and professionalism.

The Arcadia Police Department said they will continue to respond swiftly and follow established protocols to ensure schools remain safe environments for everyone.
