COLLIER COUNTY, Fla. — The Collier County Sheriff's Office is investigating Deputy Eric Pellegrino for negligence related to the morning he conducted a traffic stop on 24-year-old Genise Taylor when she was cited for speeding.

WINK News obtained Deputy Pellegrino's personnel file after the sheriff's office confirmed they are conducting an internal investigation into Taylor's traffic stop. The stop occurred less than two hours before she is accused of driving drunk the wrong way on I-75 and causing a crash that killed 96-year-old Arthur Gilbert.
The file cites the allegations into Deputy Pellegrino as "being negligent or in non-compliance with CCSO rules or policies." The sheriff's office told WINK News that Pellegrino is not on administrative leave.
According to documents, the investigation is active and pending.
