FORT MYERS, Fla. — It’s a tail-wagging weekend in Southwest Florida as the Gulf Coast Humane Society brings together pet lovers for not one, but two community events focused on wellness, adoption and giving back.
At the Edison Mall, animal lovers can roll out their mats for “Pupilates,” a unique fitness experience that pairs people and their pups for a morning workout. The event runs Saturday from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m., blending movement and mindfulness while raising money for homeless pets in the community.
FORT MYERS, Fla. — It’s a tail-wagging weekend in Southwest Florida as the Gulf Coast Humane Society brings together pet lovers for not one, but two community events focused on wellness, adoption and giving back.
Organizers expect around 250 participants and their dogs to take part in the all-levels Pilates class, led by professional instructors alongside canine fitness trainers. Proceeds from registration go directly back to the Humane Society to support animal care and adoption programs.
The event is designed to highlight the importance of health and wellness for both pets and their owners, while also creating a fun, social environment for the community to connect over a shared love of animals.
Later in the day, the focus shifts to finding pets their forever homes at the first-ever SWFL Pet Expo. The expo runs from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. and brings together dozens of local rescues, shelters and vendors all under one roof.
Attendees can meet adoptable dogs, connect with animal welfare organizations and explore pet-related products and services. The event is free and aims to promote responsible pet ownership while increasing awareness about adoption across Southwest Florida.
Together, the events highlight the Humane Society’s mission of supporting animals at every stage, from promoting healthy lifestyles to helping pets find loving homes.
Whether you’re looking to break a sweat with your dog or bring home a new furry friend, this weekend offers something for every pet lover.
Because in Southwest Florida, it’s not just about loving your pets it’s about showing up for the ones still waiting.
