Fort Myers man caught with fentanyl, crack cocaine after texting while driving

FORT MYERS, Fla. (WINK)—A traffic stop for texting while driving led to the seizure of more than 180 grams of narcotics on March 25, according to the Fort Myers Police Department. 

Special Enforcement Division detectives conducted a proactive patrol along the Palm Beach Boulevard corridor when Detective Reddington observed a driver texting while operating a vehicle with unlawful window tint. The observation prompted a traffic stop.

During the stop, detectives noticed the smell of marijuana emanating from the vehicle. 

According to police, the driver, identified as Loucruncha Jeansimon, 33, did not have a valid medical marijuana card. Police reported that after searching through his vehicle, they found marijuana, prompting further investigation.

During the continued investigation, Jeansimon resisted lawful commands while attempting to conceal an item on his person.

Detectives ultimately recovered a concealed package containing a large quantity of suspected narcotics. The police department reports that officers recovered several forms of narcotics, including 68.4 grams of crack cocaine, 84.5 grams of fentanyl, and 28.4 grams of meth.

Jeansimon was arrested and transported to the Lee County Jail, facing multiple trafficking charges as well as resisting an officer without violence.
