Savannah Guthrie talks mother's apparent kidnapping in first interview since her disappearance

Savannah Guthrie shed tears during an interview on the "Today" show, marking the first time she has spoken on the show she anchors about her mother's apparent kidnapping.

Guthrie said, "He said, I think she's been kidnapped for ransom."

She expressed disbelief and guilt, saying, "Like how dumb could I be, but I just, I didn't want to believe. I just said, 'Do you think...because of me?' And [my brother] said, 'I'm sorry, sweetie, but, yeah, maybe.'"

Guthrie also shared her feelings of remorse, stating, "And I just say 'I'm so sorry mommy, I'm so sorry.'"

Part two of the pre-taped interview airs this morning on "Today." There is no official word on when Guthrie will return to her hosting duties on the show. One insider has speculated it could be next month.
