SOUTHWEST FLORIDA, (WINK) — WINK News Weather Authority Meteorologists are forecasting another round of scattered showers and storms for some Southwest Florida communities later this afternoon into the evening. This could impact your Saturday night plans.
Before that, though, this afternoon will bring a nice mix of sun and clouds, with temperatures soaring into the upper 80s for most. Grab the water and sunscreen; it's going to be quite humid as well!
You might want to pack up the beach chairs and umbrellas sooner rather than later, as scattered storms arrive before sunset and continue into the nighttime hours.
This is due to a cold front arriving, bringing more moisture with it.
Because Collier County looks to get in on more of the rain, the FC Naples soccer game could be impacted.
Sunday looks to continue our stretch of scattered showers and storms in the afternoon, but there's a catch.
The cold front does not clear through Florida, but instead stalls across the area. This will lead to increased levels of moisture in the upper atmosphere, creating cloudier conditions on Sunday, and also allowing for a few showers throughout the morning hours.
It will be quite breezy as well.
Not going to be a great boat day, as a small craft advisory will likely be in place.
Monday, we also have the chance for isolated showers and storms as the front continues to stall out over us, but that will likely lift by mid-week, leaving us with a warming trend all the way through Easter Sunday.
Breezy conditions persist over the next few days thanks to the stalling front.
Rain chances also hold steady through Tuesday, before we dry out mid-week.
Rainfall totals over the next few days aren't too impressive, but we will take any rain we can get.
WINK Weather Authority meteorologists are monitoring the extreme drought conditions, and we will get an update on the monitor on Thursday. Stay tuned!
If you are headed out on the boat or to the beach today, expect plenty of sunshine for the first half of the day.
Winds are out of the north/northeast around 5 to 10 knots. Gulf wave heights are only reaching 1 to 2 feet, with our bays and inland waters at a light chop.
The Gulf water temperature is at a pleasant 77 degrees, and our UV is at 10, so make sure to wear plenty of sunscreen.
A small craft advisory will be in place this evening as the cold front pushes through, so today is definitely a good day to get out on the water earlier rather than later.
