A man is accused of violating the terms of his probation following a fleeing and eluding arrest in Lehigh Acres, Southwest Florida Crime Stoppers said on Friday.
According to Crime Stoppers, Curtis Christmas, 32, was driving in Lehigh Acres when he smoked marijuana right next to a trooper from the Florida Highway Patrol.
Crime Stoppers says that after the trooper turned on their lights, Christmas sped off in his car, then drove unsafely slowly. It adds that the trooper ended up doing a PIT maneuver to stop Christmas.
When asked why he wouldn't stop, Christmas reportedly told the trooper that he had a suspended license and didn't want to get in trouble.
Christmas is 6 feet 3 inches and weighs 150 pounds. Upon his arrest, Crime Stoppers says, he will be held without bond at the Lee County Jail.
If you have information in this case, you are asked to contact Southwest Florida Crime Stoppers at 1-800-780-TIPS (8477), on the P3 app, or on its website. You can remain anonymous, and if your tip leads to an arrest, you may be eligible for a cash reward of up to $3,000.
