Death investigation underway after body found in Hunter Creek within Peace River in Charlotte County

CHARLOTTE COUNTY, Fla. —

The Charlotte County Sheriff's Office is conducting a death investigation after a body was found in the water within the Peace River in Charlotte County.

According to CCSO, the major crimes unit is conducting the investigation after a body was found in the area of Hunter Creek within the Peace River.

CCSO said the investigation is in the early stages, and no additional information is available at this time.
