Family seeks justice 1 year after Immokalee mom killed by gunfire

IMMOKALEE, Fla. (WINK) — One year after a mother of four was shot and killed inside her own home, her family gathered to mark the anniversary of her death.

The family of Priscilla Hallihan came together on Sunday at Lake Trafford Memorial Gardens in Immokalee to honor her life.

"Today means everything," said Aimee Hallihan, Priscilla's sister. "Today is the day that my sister was murdered, and today is all about her."

"Even though she is not here, we want to be here for her," said Glenn Hallihan, Priscilla's father.

Her family says she was the heart of their family, the one who brought everyone together. Glenn Hallihan described the pain of losing his daughter.

"I'm feeling broken, I don't wish this on any parent in this world," he said.

"It's hard, really hard. She was the heart and soul of our family. She made everything come together, made everybody laugh, everybody [had] joy."

For her son Dustin Dimas, there are moments he wishes he could have back.

"I just really wish all the times that she had asked to hang out together," Dimas said.

"I really wish that I took that chance."

The 33-year-old mother of four was shot and killed inside her LaBelle home while sitting on her couch when a bullet came through her living room window. Investigators have identified 17-year-old Antonio Arenivar as the suspect.

According to deputies, a digital pin with Hallihan’s address was sent about 30 minutes before the shooting. Deputies also say comments were made on FaceTime after the incident.

Despite these leads, the family says the legal process has been slow, and they are waiting for justice.

"We just want justice," said Travis Hallihan, Priscilla's brother. "We need closure for the kids."
