Marco Island waterline project to bring temporary road shutdowns, water service interruptions

MARCO ISLAND, Fla. (WINK)—The City of Marco Island Water & Sewer Department will continue waterline upgrades at North Collier Boulevard and North Barfield Drive from March 30 to April 3.

Residents should expect temporary water service interruptions during the work. A southbound left-lane closure on Collier Boulevard will be in place from March 31 through April 3.

Officials are asking drivers to use caution and allow extra travel time while traveling through the area. The planned water shutdowns will occur between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. or 6 p.m., depending on the day.

On March 30, affected areas include North Barfield Drive (addresses 593–656), Bambo Court, Bluebird Avenue (1200–1296), Bimini Drive, Firwood Drive and Butterfield Drive. Residents in these areas must boil water until April 2.

On March 31, the shutdown will affect Martinique Court, North Barfield Drive (740–861), Lilac Court, Apple Court, Willow Court and Chestnut Court. A boil water notice will remain in effect until April 3.

On April 1, impacted locations include North Collier Boulevard (1121–1353), Rose Court, Cedar Court, Fern Court and Bluebird Avenue (1115–1181). Residents must boil water until April 4.

The city has not provided information on whether additional work will be required beyond April 3.
