Fort Myers police seek information on 2009 murder cold case

FORT MYERS, Fla. —

Fort Myers police and Southwest Florida Crime Stoppers are seeking any information relating to a 2009 homicide cold case that left a 19-year-old dead.

According to Crime Stoppers, on March 20, 2009, Fort Myers police officers responded to the intersection of Midway Avenue and Franklin Street due to reports of shots fired.

When they arrived, they found Charles Edward Ramsey II, 19, in the driver's seat of a white Ford pickup truck with multiple gunshot wounds. Ramsey died at the scene.

The investigation into Ramsey's murder continues, and Crime Stoppers has upped the reward to up to $5,000 for information in Ramsey's murder.
