Two-vehicle crash with injuries shuts down Corkscrew Road, impacting traffic

ESTERO, Fla. (WINK) — The Lee County Sheriff’s Office, along with other first responders are on the scene attending to a two-vehicle crash that has closed Carter and Corkscrew roads in Estero.

Law enforcement responded to the scene at around 5 p.m. on Tuesday, where they closed Corkscrew Road from Lazy D Farm Road to Six LS Farm Road.

Motorists are asked to avoid the area until further notice.

WINK News reporter Jillian Haggerty is en route to the scene to gather more information and provide traffic updates whenever they become available.

A crash witness spoke with WINK News, saying that they communicated with a Lee County Sheriff's Office deputy. They say that five people have been injured and that the road will remain close for a "couple" hours.

The witness then added that the five injured has been transported to a nearby hospital for treatment.
