Clouds vs. Countdown: Will Southwest Florida catch the Artemis launch?

SOUTHWEST FLORIDA, (WINK) — Stepping outside this afternoon, you will notice the sunshine mixed with clouds and warm temperatures in the upper 70s to low 80s. Most neighborhoods will stay dry today, however a few pop-up showers are possible throughout the afternoon.

Wednesday

This evening, all eyes will be on the sky as Artemis II launches into space.

While we should be able to see the launch from here in Southwest Florida, clouds may impede the view for some.

Temperatures will be mild in the upper 70s. 

Thursday

Thursday looks to start mild and humid once again with lows in the 60s.

More moisture is moving in for Thursday and that will lead to scattered storms developing in the afternoon and early evening.

Heavy rain, gusty winds and some lightning will accompany those storms. Temperatures top out in the mid to upper 80s.

Friday 

Friday morning will start even milder and more humid following Thursday's rain. Plan for some rain with isolated storms in the forecast Friday afternoon and evening.

Highs will be hotter and top out in the upper 80s to 90 for some communities.
