Nude images found on government laptop prompts investigation of Charlotte County commissioner

CHARLOTTE COUNTY, Fla. —

Records show that Charlotte County Commissioner Christopher Constance was under investigation over pictures of nude women that were reportedly found on his government-issued laptop.

The county hired an outside law firm, DSK Law, to conduct an independent investigation.

According to the report, the investigation began after Charlotte County's IT department discovered nude images of a woman on Constance's county-issued laptop. The law firm was tasked with determining whether Constance violated Charlotte County Policy 3.45, which governs discrimination, harassment, and offensive behavior in the workplace.

The firm noted that Constance is believed to be a plastic surgeon, and some of the images could be related to patient consultations. However, the report stated, "There are at least two photos of blonde women in a bathroom in her underwear. These photos appear to be personal in nature and not work-related."

Investigators noted that Constance failed to cooperate and accused him of ignoring requests for an interview. The law firm concluded the images violated county policy and described them as offensive in the workplace.

Despite the investigation's findings, the county did not follow through with the investigation. The county said the matter was resolved. The chairman of the county commissioners rejected those findings, calling them "null and void."

The documents do not state what consequences, if any, were issued. Attempts to reach Charlotte County Commissioner Christopher Constance for comment were unsuccessful.
