Active investigation underway at gas station in Fort Myers

FORT MYERS, Fla. (WINK)—The Fort Myers Police Department is conducting an active investigation at a Chevron gas station on Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard.

According to police, the investigation began at the corner of MLK and Veronica Shoemaker boulevards at around 8 a.m. on Thursday, and they stated that no pursuit had occurred but that an active investigation is underway.

The details of this investigation remain unknown; however, police will release more information throughout the day. 

Traffic on MLK Boulevard has increased due to the heighten law enforcement presence. Alternative routes are advised.
