Convicted Collier County drug trafficker sentenced to 30 years in prison

COLLIER COUNTY, Fla. —

A convicted drug trafficker in Collier County was sentenced to 30 years in prison on Wednesday.

According to a release from the State Attorney's Office, Michael Chapa, 29, will spend the next 30 years in prison for a drug case involving the trafficking of drugs from Texas to Southwest Florida.

Chapa was arrested in 2023 as part of Operation "All in the Family" after an extensive NETFORCE undercover investigation revealed he arranged for the trafficking of cocaine to be brought from Texas, via bus, to Southwest Florida.

He was adjudicated guilty on charges of participation in an enterprise through a pattern of racketeering activity, conspiracy to traffic in cocaine and conspiracy to traffic in methamphetamine.

Assistant State Attorney Kate Rumley, Chief of Narcotics, prosecuted the case.
