TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WINK)— The Florida Lottery announced it has generated more than $50 billion for the Florida Educational Enhancement Trust Fund as of January.
The funding supports public schools, higher education, and scholarship programs such as the Florida Bright Futures Scholarship Program. The program supports both college education and technical training.
"Reaching this $50 billion milestone is a testament to the dedication of our players," said Florida Lottery Acting Secretary Reginald D. Dixon.
Dixon credited Gov. Ron DeSantis and First Lady Casey DeSantis for their leadership over the past seven years.
"This success would not have been possible without the steadfast leadership of Governor Ron DeSantis and First Lady Casey DeSantis over the past seven years, whose commitment to Florida's students and families continues to inspire our mission," Dixon said. "Every ticket purchased helps fund classrooms, scholarships, and programs that empower students to reach their full potential."
The Florida Lottery has funded K-12 programs, classroom initiatives, scholarships, and workforce training opportunities across the state since its inception in 1988. The organization remains committed to generating revenue for education while preserving the integrity of its games.
