COLLIER COUNTY, Fla. — The Collier County Sheriff's Office has filed new charges for a woman accused of killing a 96-year old man while driving the wrong way on I-75.
Genise Taylor has been charged with DUI Manslaughter, DUI damage to a person or property, Vehicular Homicide and Reckless Driving.
According to troopers, Genise Gardenia Taylor was driving northbound on the southbound lanes of I-75 on Immokalee Road.
Troopers said Taylor collided with the two vehicles, causing critical injuries to a 96-year-old Naples man and non-incapacitating injuries to a 57-year-old man from New Hampshire.
Taylor was pulled over two hours before the crash by Collier County Deputy Eric Pellegrino.
According to her arrest report, Taylor spent the night bar-hopping in Mercato. Prosecutors say she was pulled over on U.S. 41 by a Collier County Sheriff's deputy, who cited her for speeding.
