Artemis crew captures stunning Earth photo from space

CAPE CANAVERAL - The Artemis crew is making steady progress on their journey to the moon.

Thursday night's translunar injection burn was a success, and the astronauts practiced the docking maneuvers needed for future flights.

The crew in space and at Houston Mission Control have been busy. The astronauts completed the transition to the Deep Space Network for communications and are getting comfortable in their space environment, even picking out their sleeping locations in the capsule.

They all got a workout in on the flywheel exercise machine.

The toilet is now working thanks to astronaut Christina Koch.

"I'm the space plumber. I'm proud to call myself the space plumber. I like to say that it is probably the most important piece of equipment on board, so we were all breathing a sigh of relief when it turned out to be just fine," Koch said.

The crew has been taking pictures, including one of the entire Earth. You can even see the northern lights.
