LEE COUNTY, Fla. — The roar of an engine is hard to miss, and for many in Southwest Florida, it signals more than just a motorcycle passing by. It points to a place where riders gather, connect, and call home: Bert’s Black Pearl Indian Triumph.
What may look like a traditional dealership at first glance is anything but. Inside, nearly 200 motorcycles sit lined up, representing two iconic brands: Triumph Motorcycles and Indian Motorcycle. But employees say the bikes are only part of the story.
Since the location was purchased in August 2024, the space has evolved into a hub for the local riding community. Staff describes it less like a business and more like a gathering place.
“With car dealerships, you go, get your car and leave,” Chief People officer, Peri Blumer, said. “With us, we hold events and want you to be a part of our community. It’s nice to have a place to go.”
That sense of belonging is intentional. Employees say they work to make every visitor feel comfortable, especially those new to the motorcycle world.
“We always make people feel welcomed by giving them tours and showing them around,” Tammy Still said. “Everyone’s invited to all our events.”
Those events happen often. From the monthly Pirate Bash held on the last Saturday of each month to themed weekend gatherings, there’s always something bringing riders together.

One of the dealership’s most unique features is right under visitors’ feet. A line runs down the middle of the showroom floor, dividing the two brands it carries.
On one side, Triumph Motorcycles, one of the oldest motorcycle manufacturers in the world, showcases its premium bikes, known for their parallel twin engines and refined performance.
“The person who buys a Triumph likes the finer things in life,” said Jeff Warwick, a Triumph representative. “It’s a premium brand and low maintenance, too.”
On the other side, Indian Motorcycle highlights its legacy as America’s first motorcycle company. The bikes are known for their signature V-twin cruisers, blending classic design with modern technology and performance.
The showroom features a wide range of models, from rugged scramblers to adventure-ready bikes like the Triumph Tiger.
For those who have always wanted to ride but don’t know where to start, the dealership offers a solution. Bert’s Riding Academy is a three-day course designed to teach beginners the fundamentals of riding.
“As long as you can ride a bicycle, you’re good,” instructor Cooper Gibson said. “The course is built for people who have never even been on a bike. It’s a step-by-step foundation.”
After completing the course, participants can take their certification to the DMV to obtain a motorcycle license.
Beyond bikes and training, the dealership is also focused on giving back. Through its nonprofit, Bert’s Salute to America, the team supports veterans and first responders in need. The organization has even gifted motorcycles to local veterans.
At its core, Bert’s Black Pearl Indian Triumph is more than a place to buy a motorcycle. It’s a place where riders new and experienced can find community, connection and the open road waiting just outside the door.
