Florida's prepaid college tuition program is currently open for enrollment through the end of April.
Plans start at $29 a month for a newborn signed up for one year of a university plan. Additional plans can be bought for each year of college based on someone's budget.
Shannon Smith, spokeswoman for Florida Prepaid, said paying for college in advance allows kids to start adulthood without debt.
"We've stayed stable in our prices for the last few years, which is a testament to the value of this plan, locking it in and knowing that it's set. Even if outside prices start to go up, you are set up because your coverage is guaranteed," Smith said.
Smith said overall prices are fairly steady because tuition for state universities has not increased in over a decade.
The program is open to children from newborns through 11th grade.
