Lee County man accused of violating probation after being found guilty of damaging neighbor's cars

LEE COUNTY, Fla. —

A Lee County man is accused of violating his probation stemming from an arrest on four counts of criminal mischief.

According to Southwest Florida Crime Stoppers, Thomas Smock, 57, awakened many of his neighbors one night by standing outside, yelling, cursing and threatening people who were on their front porches.

Nobody called 911 due to the fact that this was common for Smock. However, the next morning, multiple people found that their cars were damaged, with broken mirrors and windows, Crime Stoppers said.

Smock was arrested and found guilty on four charges of criminal mischief. He was placed on probation, which he then violated last week, according to Crime Stoppers.

Since 1988, Smock has been booked 13 times on 73 criminal charges, including burglary, theft, attempted robbery and grand theft auto. He has spent more than 20 years of his life in prison.

Smock is 5'7", 155 pounds and has a tattoo of a knife through a heart and "Love thy neighbor" on his left arm, and a tattoo stating "Mama Tried" on his back.
