New water restrictions in place for part of Charlotte County

CHARLOTTE COUNTY, Fla. —

A part of Charlotte County is working under new water restrictions due to ongoing drought conditions on the Gulf Coast.

The Southwest Florida Water Management District recently declared a Modified Phase III "Extreme" water shortage for a portion of the county, leading to the new restrictions.

From April 3 to July 1, watering hours are reduced to 12:01 a.m. to 4 a.m. only. The restrictions also apply to residents on private wells.

The watering schedule is dependent on the last number of your street address as follows:

• 0 or 1: Monday
• 2 or 3: Tuesday
• 4 or 5: Wednesday
• 6 or 7: Thursday
• 8 or 9: Friday
