SOUTHWEST FLORIDA, (WINK) — Your Sunday is starting off mild and a bit muggy, with temperatures in the upper 60s to near 70 degrees.
The good news: Morning plans, including Easter egg hunts, should stay dry. WINK Weather Authority meteorologists are not expecting rain through the first half of the day. Changes arrive this afternoon as more moisture moves in.
Rain chances increase after noon, with the highest coverage expected during the evening hours. Temperatures will climb into the mid- to upper-80s.
The start of the workweek will look similar to today. The morning commute should remain dry, but showers are expected to develop later in the day.
Rain becomes more scattered by late afternoon, especially around and after 4 p.m. Inland areas are currently expected to see the greatest coverage. High temperatures will reach the mid-80s.
Breezy conditions continue into the first half of the week as a cold front moves through Tuesday.
This front, combined with increased tropical moisture, will bring higher rain and storm chances, especially on Tuesday. A few morning showers are possible with the front, followed by scattered afternoon storms. Behind the front, temperatures will ease slightly, settling below seasonal averages in the low 80s.
If you’re heading out on the water, earlier is better. Scattered showers and storms develop later today.
Gulf wave heights remain around 1 to 2 feet, with a light chop on bays and inland waters. Winds will be out of the east at 5 to 15 knots. Gulf water temperature is near 77 degrees.
