Gas leak in Collier County causes several home evacuations on Westbrough Court

COLLIER COUNTY, Fla. (WINK) — The Collier County Sheriff’s Office has evacuated 10 homes located on Westbrough Court due to a gas leak.

The gas leak has also affected traffic in the area, closing the westbound lanes of Rattlesnake Hammock Road near Royal Wood Boulevard on Monday.

Initially reported at 1:35 p.m., the closure is expected to last for at least two hours, according to the sheriff’s office. It remains unclear if an extension will occur while law enforcement works the scene.
