Work begins on Estero Blvd repair project on Fort Myers Beach

FORT MYERS BEACH, Fla. —

The Lee County Department of Transportation has begun work on Estero Boulevard on Fort Myers Beach from Estrellita Drive to Crescent Street.

The work will include repairs of damaged asphalt, curb and gutter, sidewalk, pavement, pedestrian handrail, school flashers and pedestrian signals. It will also include the removal and replacement of the previous paver drainage facilities.

Crews will begin work at the south end of the project due to the seasonal traffic on the north end. The contractor will limit work zones where possible to ensure pedestrian connectivity along Estero Boulevard.

Construction is expected to be completed in Fall 2027.
