Trump says Operation Epic Fury nearing end after 1 month of fighting

FORT MYERS - President Trump addressed the nation on Operation Epic Fury, now one month into the military campaign.

The president said the U.S. is "on track to complete all of America's military objectives shortly."

He compared the timeline of this operation to past wars, emphasizing that while some conflicts have lasted years, this one has been underway for just over a month. He said the U.S. is close to finishing the job and getting it done fast.

During his address, Trump thanked troops overseas and honored the 13 service members who have died.

Some of those troops have families right here in Southwest Florida.

Dale Vogel has a loved one serving in the operation.

"We would support the military organization and the military leadership decision and anything that they have done to properly prepare the administration to handle the situations that are over there," Vogel said.

While the president said the operation is nearing completion, he also said the U.S. is working to make a deal with Iran's new regime.

"If there is no deal we are going to hit each and every one of their electric generator plants, possibly simultaneously," Trump said.
