Charlotte County Sheriff's Office seeks help in identifying body found near Peace River in March

CHARLOTTE COUNTY, Fla. —

The Charlotte County Sheriff's Office is seeking the community's help in identifying a deceased woman who was pulled out of Hunter Creek near the Peace River in March.

CCSO said the woman was likely between the ages of 50 and 80 years old, and she had been in the water for several days before she was found on March 29.

Her cause of death has not been determined at this time.

According to the sheriff's office, detectives gave reasons to believe she had some medical issues before her death. CCSO said she had purple nail polish on her toes and was about 5 feet 5 inches tall with light colored hair.

CCSO also said this could be a woman in the age range who has missed salon, medical, or other appointments without notification.
