COLLIER COUNTY, Fla. (WINK) — Two Collier County Sheriff's Office deputies and one driver escaped injury on Wednesday night when a vehicle crashed into a patrol car during a traffic stop on North Collier Blvd.
Deputies said they were conducting a routine traffic stop when a vehicle suddenly came barreling toward them, crashing into the rear of one of the patrol vehicles.
Authorities said the deputies and the driver who had been initially stopped had to scramble out of the way of the crash.
The Florida Highway Patrol responded and investigated the crash. The driver of the striking vehicle was arrested and charged with DUI.
