Duo accused of selling multiple forms of narcotics near Cape Coral elementary school

CAPE CORAL, Fla. (WINK)—A Cape Coral man and woman face multiple narcotics charges after police say they sold drugs within 1,000 feet of an elementary school.

The Cape Coral Police Department SWAT Team executed a search warrant at 235 SW 33rd Terrace on April 8 at around 11:47 a.m. Andrew Lee Horner, 32, was arrested following a weeks-long investigation by the department's Narcotics Unit.

The investigation began after the unit received a tip that Horner was selling narcotics from his home. In March, during an undercover controlled drug transaction at his residence, Horner sold 6 grams of meth and 1.6 grams of MDMA.

Police used a UAV to measure the distance between Horner's home and Pelican Elementary School, which was estimated at 975 feet. During a second undercover controlled drug transaction at his residence, Horner sold 50 Xanax pills.

When the SWAT team executed the search warrant on April 8, they located multiple items inside the home. These included 1.9 grams of LSD tabs, 4.4 grams of amphetamine pills, 6.6 grams of Xanax pills, 28.2 grams of psychopsilocybin mushrooms, 1.3 grams of meth, and small plastic baggies that matched the ones Horner used during the sales.

Detectives also found a purse belonging to Hannah Wheeler, 26. A glass pipe was found inside the purse along with her ID, and the pipe field-tested positive for meth.

Horner was taken to the Lee County Jail and faces 11 charges, including sale of a controlled substance within 1,000 feet of a specified area, multiple counts of possession of a controlled substance, two counts of possession with intent to sell, and one count of possession of paraphernalia. Wheeler was also taken to the Lee County Jail on one count of possession of paraphernalia.
