Lehigh Acres woman accused of using car as weapon, intentionally pinning victim between 2 cars

CYPRESS LAKE, Fla. —

A Lehigh Acres woman was arrested on Wednesday after being accused of intentionally pinning a woman between two cars, injuring her.

According to the Lee County Sheriff's Office arrest report, deputies responded to a call on Monday from the victim, who told them she had been hit by a car in the parking lot of the RaceTrac gas station on South Pointe Boulevard in Cypress Lake earlier in the day.

The victim told deputies that while at the RaceTrac, someone had crashed into her vehicle head-on. The victim then said she got out of her car, and while outside of the vehicle, the same driver hit her, pinning her between the driver's vehicle and her own.

Deputies then viewed surveillance footage from the RaceTrac.

The accused driver was identified as Navayahia Diaz, 19. In the video, Diaz is seen in a verbal altercation with multiple other females in the parking lot, the arrest report said. Diaz then returns to her vehicle before coming back with a large canister of an unknown substance, which she then sprayed at the crowd, sending people running.

Diaz then got into a parked vehicle that was not her own, backed the vehicle away from the gas pump, and rapidly accelerated towards another vehicle, hitting it on the front passenger side, the report said.

Diaz reversed and then intentionally crashed into the victim's car. The incident then proceeded exactly as the victim had told deputies, LCSO said.

The crash caused the victim to self-admit to the hospital due to the pain in her legs.

On Wednesday, deputies made contact with Diaz and arrested her.

Diaz faces a charge of aggravated battery with a deadly weapon.
