Florida Highway Patrol announced on Thursday that it has impounded a second vehicle in an investigation into a deadly hit-and-run crash that occurred on East 5th Street in Lehigh Acres.
According to FHP, troopers continue to investigate the April 2 crash that killed a 32-year-old bicyclist.
On Wednesday, troopers impounded a blue Toyota Camry from a residence in Lehigh Acres. Upon further inspection of the car, it was determined that the front bumper had been repaired, and the remaining hubcaps had been removed.
This is the second vehicle FHP has impounded in the investigation, as on April 2, troopers impounded a red Ford SUV with front damage from a residence in Lehigh Acres.
The investigation remains ongoing, FHP said.
