Punta Gorda gas station shooting suspect caught in Levy County

PUNTA GORDA, Fla. (WINK) — Travis Merrell, a wanted suspect in a shooting at a Punta Gorda gas station, was arrested in Levy County, according to the Charlotte County Sheriff's Office.

The Charlotte County Sheriff's Office said Merrell was wanted in connection with a shooting at the Pilot Gas Station on March 8. He was the newest member of the agency's Most Wanted list.

Merrell is being held on a Charlotte County warrant and faces additional charges from Levy County law enforcement.

The sheriff's office did not release further details about the arrest or the additional charges.
