The Florida Department of Transportation says a full closure of the Wilson Pigott Bridge will begin overnight on April 12 for crews to begin working on replacing the grid deck.
According to a press release, the closure is expected to be in place for 10 days. During this time, access on the bridge will be completely blocked to all traffic, including cars, commercial trucks, buses, and delivery vehicles.
A detour will be in place to direct traffic towards Interstate 75 to cross the Caloosahatchee River as an alternative to Babcock Ranch Road and State Road 31.
