SOUTHWEST FLORIDA, (WINK)—WINK News Weather Authority meteorologists continue to monitor conditions around the Picayune Strand State Forest fire. While we are seeing less smoke across communities in Collier County, some fires are still burning, and smoke will continue to be an issue for some. We'll see an East wind of 5 to 15 mph throughout the day.

For today, The Weather Authority is expecting a dry and warm day with partly cloudy skies.

The Weather Authority's Zach Maloch said, "We're forecasting an even hotter day ahead. Those 90s are not far away."

Thursday

Thursday morning is starting quite pleasantly again with temperatures in the lower to mid 60s.

Plan for another dry and warm day, with highs in the upper 80s to near 90. A large area of high pressure in the upper levels of our atmosphere has more of an influence over Southwest Florida.

Hotter weather builds in with highs in the upper 80s to around 90.

Friday

Friday will start a little milder with lows in the mid to upper 60s.

The heat builds for your Friday plans, with highs climbing into the upper 80s to lower 90s. We'll stay dry, but that heat may sneak up on some of you throughout the day.

Even hotter temperatures are forecast to build in over the weekend.

Saturday

Saturday will begin warmer and more humid with lows in the upper 60s to lower 70s.

Plan for another hot day with temperatures running 5 - 10° above normal.

Highs top out in the upper 80s to lower 90s. Dry conditions are in the forecast for your Saturday activities.
