Man wanted in Collier County after failing to register as sex offender

COLLIER COUNTY, Fla. —

A man is wanted in Collier County after failing to register as a sex offender.

According to Southwest Florida Crime Stoppers, Craig Watkins, 42, has been wanted since January, when a warrant was issued for his arrest for failure to register as a sex offender.

Watkins was convicted in 2015 for sexual assault on a minor and promoting a sexual performance by a child.

This occurred when the mother of the victim went through her daughter's laptop and found an explicit 15-minute video of Watkins and her teenage daughter, Crime Stoppers said.

Watkins, who was 29 at the time, was arrested and eventually confessed to being in the video. Crime Stoppers said Watkins showed zero remorse over the incident and instead was mad that he would be labeled as a sex offender.

Watkins has been arrested multiple times since being convicted on charges such as weapons offenses.

Watkins is 5'5", 150 pounds, and will be held without bond upon his arrest, Crime Stoppers said.
