Fort Myers Mayor Kevin Anderson announced on Thursday that he will be running for re-election.
In a Facebook post on his bid for re-election, Anderson said that he's running because Fort Myers "is moving in the right direction but there is still more to accomplish."
Anderson went on to highlight a lower city millage rate, lower crime rates, economic development and several city projects including the Midtown redevelopment and Black Cultural Center as successes in his term.
"I am running for reelection to continue building on this progress, to see these projects through, and to ensure that Fort Myers remains a city where we are all proud to call home," Anderson concluded in his announcement.
