Troopers from the Florida Highway Patrol arrested an 11-year-old driver following a chase on I-75 near mile marker 150 in Charlotte County.
According to FHP, troopers received a call about a vehicle driving all over the road traveling northbound on I-75 in Lee County Friday evening. The vehicle was initially located at mile marker 136, and troopers say they conducted a traffic stop.
FHP says that as a trooper exited his patrol vehicle during the stop, the other vehicle drove off. A second traffic stop was conducted at mile marker 150, and an 11-year-old driver was arrested. FHP says that there were no injuries in the incident.
FHP says the juvenile was charged with fleeing, driving without a license, reckless driving and grand theft. They were booked into the Charlotte County Jail.
The juvenile's guardians were notified, FHP says.
