Sunny, hot Saturday gives way to isolated showers and a breezy cold front early next week

SOUTHWEST FLORIDA, (WINK) — It’s turned into a beautiful day across Southwest Florida, with plenty of sunshine and temperatures now climbing through the mid-80s. Humidity is a bit higher today, so it may feel sticky if you’re spending time outdoors.

As we head deeper into the afternoon, the heat will build even more, with many areas reaching 90°. Expect a mix of sun and clouds, but no rain to help cool things down.

Tonight

A stray shower is possible in our inland communities after sunset, but chances remain very low. Most areas will stay dry overnight. Temperatures will hold in the 80s through sunset, then fall into the upper 70s by midnight.

Monday

The new workweek brings a shift in the weather pattern. A cold front will move through, bringing isolated showers and storms that could impact the evening commute. Highs will reach the upper 80s, with increased humidity ahead of the front. Winds will also pick up, with gusts up to 25 mph at times.

Looking Ahead

Behind the front, much drier air settles in, dropping dew points into the 40s and 50s and making it feel more comfortable. However, the combination of dry air and breezy conditions will increase fire danger, especially Tuesday and Wednesday. Temperatures will trend closer to average to finish the workweek.
