Andrew Shipotofsky joined the WINK News Weather Authority team in 2026, bringing years of forecasting experience and a strong understanding of Florida’s most complex weather patterns. As a Certified Broadcast Meteorologist through the American Meteorological Society, Andrew is committed to delivering accurate, dependable forecasts that help Southwest Florida stay prepared.

His passion for weather began early, while growing up in New Jersey, as he tracked Nor’easters, winter storms, and hurricanes. A visit to Southwest Florida during Hurricane Charley further shaped his interest in tropical weather and severe storm coverage.

Andrew earned his degree in Meteorology from Florida Institute of Technology, where he also competed in Division II track and field. His career has taken him across the country, with forecasting roles in South Dakota, Oregon, Texas, and Southwest Florida. He has covered major storms, including Hurricanes Ian, Helene, and Milton, along with the 2022 tornado outbreak.

He has also reported extensively on Florida’s environmental challenges, including red tide, blue-green algae, and Lake Okeechobee water releases. His work has earned recognition from the Florida Association of Broadcast Journalists and Calusa Waterkeeper.
