Fort Myers leaders consider passive park proposal on Treeline Avenue

FORT MYERS, Fla. —

Fort Myers city leaders are considering a proposal to develop a new park on 32.6 acres of unused land along Treeline Avenue.

The proposed park at 13100 Treeline Ave. would be a passive park, a low-maintenance space designed for quiet, nature-focused activities rather than sports.

Unlike a traditional park, passive parks typically emphasize natural surroundings and limited development.

The proposal is expected to be discussed during the city council meeting on Monday, April 20, at City Hall Council Chambers, 2200 Second Street. The item is expected to be heard at about 5:15 p.m.
