Threat call to West Elementary School in Arcadia deemed a hoax

ARCADIA, Fla. —

West Elementary School in Arcadia received a threat call on Tuesday.

According to the DeSoto County Sheriff's Office, the call was a hoax.

Deputies responded and said they respond to every threat as if it's real, and they will continue to do so.

This comes after there were eight threats against the school in six school days during March.

Gulf Coast News has also reached out to the Arcadia Police Department and the School District of DeSoto County for more information.
