Lee County deputies arrest naked man accused of stealing car, stealing from gas station

FORT MYERS, Fla. —

A man was arrested in Fort Myers on Tuesday after being accused of stealing from a gas station and stealing a car.

According to the Lee County Sheriff's Office, deputies responded to the Circle K on San Carlos Boulevard in reference to a theft. An employee told deputies that a man had stolen merchandise from the store before fleeing the scene in a vehicle.

Deputies located the vehicle described by the employee at the Cascades at Clear Lakes Apartments. Further investigation revealed that the vehicle had been stolen after the same suspect from the gas station had forcibly entered an occupied residence within the apartment complex, LCSO said.

Deputies identified the suspect as Carlos Javier Santana, 36, according to LCSO. Deputies located Santana naked in an abandoned home on Church Street in Fort Myers.

Santana was arrested and faces charges of burglary of a dwelling, petit theft and grand theft auto.
