Collier County deputies investigate accidental discharge of firearm at residence

COLLIER COUNTY, Fla. (WINK) — Several Collier County Sheriff’s Office deputies are investigating an accidental shooting/discharge at a neighborhood located on Dogwood Way. 

Deputies responded to the scene at around 4 p.m. on Tuesday. At 5 p.m., law enforcement cleared the scene.

WINK News contacted the sheriff’s office for a statement regarding this scene.

The sheriff’s office public information officer reports that the cause of the scene was an accidental shooting/discharge of a firearm at that location. 

One person was transported to the hospital for treatment of their injuries.

The scene remains under investigation.
